Hats off to the incredible Edward Mbogo Nyatti
Edward Mbogo Nyatti is a highly motivated and focused individual who has a heart of gold

I first met Edward, popularly known as Nyayti when I joined the CITAM Woodley Music Team in August 2012. Since I had just started going to Nairobi Remand Prison for Lifesong Kenya’s weekly prison program, I was facing a lot of challenges. Even though I was still working as a TV Producer, I still needed financial support to take care of my transport, to and from, the prison.

Four months later, I lost my job, which escalated my challenges, worries and problems. Despite all this, I continued going to prison while learning how to create WordPress websites and content creation. From Monday to Thursday, I would spend my time creating a business around Lifesong Reading Club, visiting families of the boys while learning how to create content and websites.

Despite having met Edward in church, I never heard him say he was praying me, he just took action. One of the things I learned from Edward was the power of practical action when it comes to meeting the needs of individuals. This is very crucial in a church set ups where most needs can be sorted out by practical action. The same applies to most human needs.

Edward’s support enabled me to learn content creation, WordPress web design and opened doors for me to meet a lot of people. Edward also played a pivotal role in my growth as a leader. After losing my job in 2013, my need for financial support increased tenfold. I got to learn the real bite of poverty. I lacked like I have never lacked before and needed a lot of affirmation, encouragement and cushioning. And despite not having enough for himself, he would simply say, “Let me see what to do!”

And this is why I am shouting at the top of lungs: hats off to the incredible Edward Mbogo Nyatti!

Down the years, Edward has been a very staunch source of inspiration and support. Those who have founded companies, businesses, organizations or started things know how super hard it is do get anything off the ground.

What I like about Edward is his wisdom, generosity and kindness. Edward is super cool even where there is immense pressure from all corners and sides. When Edward tells you he will be there for you, he will surely do it. Most times, he does this without complaining.

Despite juggling a multiple of roles as a graphic designer, web developer and playing the saxophone, Edward still creates time to take care of others. All these are things that requires someone who is level-headed, focused and exercises a high level of integrity. Hats off to the incredible Edward Mbogo Nyatti! I don’t know how he is able to juggle all these roles and still do it with loads of humor. Also, the guy can consume loads of chapatis and still maintain the demeanor of someone who has not eaten a bite!
